Long Time Passing is about a time that I lived through but was not a part of although my oldest child took part in some activities that surprised me. Having lived through WWII with my husband fighting, I found Long Time Passing an interesting and heart warming story of one young man’s struggles within his place in the military. The big difference between my generation of soldiers and Paul’s is that my generation felt it was a duty and honor to serve to protect our country. Somehow I never felt that the Vietnam war protected the US, so I understand the difference in feelings. Mr. Levesko wrote a great story and I thank him for providing a copy to Goodreads First Reads where I won it.
